Feldenkrais Method

The Feldenkrais method, developed by Moshe Feldenkrais, Israeli physicist and judo expert, originally to overcome a soccer injury, incorporates principles from physics, martial arts, biology and psychology. Certified practitioners have graduated from training programs approved by the Feldenkrais Guild. Feldenkrais work is presented in classes (Awareness Through Movement-ATM) or private sessions (Functional Integration-FI). In ATM the practitioner verbally guides students through a sequence of movements. In FI, the practitioner gently touches the client to explore and suggest movement possibilities. Students become aware of ineffectual habitual patterns and find new options, opening up a richer, more satisfying movement repertoire.
